St. William is again hosting the Ecumenical Lenten Luncheons at Noon on Wednesdays during Lent starting March 4th. Each Wednesday clergy from different Churches in the area will conduct the service which will be followed by a light Lenten luncheon. The program always proves insightful and interesting, and it is a great opportunity to meet people from our Community.
Save The Date! Our traditional Parish Thanksgiving Dinner will take place on Sunday November 24th after the 11AM Mass. This is the perfect time for all of us to come together in fellowship and celebrate the many blessings we have received this past year. Join fellow Parishioners on Friday, July 26th from 5PM-7PM and enjoy fresh mountain trout, either fried or grilled, fries, slaw, hush puppies, brownie and a drink for the incredible price of $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12. The Knights of Columbus always put out an outstanding meal, so plan on being there and help support their worth-while causes in the community!
St. Vincent de Paul is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday July 13th starting at 7PM. You will feast on an all you can eat spaghetti dinner with meatballs, sausage, penne a la vodka, salad, garlic bread, and dessert for a rock bottom price of $12 each. Tickets will be available after each Mass the weekends of June 29-30, July 6-7 and at the door July 13th. Ticket are always available thru the Parish Office.
Guardian ad Litem volunteer is the eyes and ears for a judge, and the person who tells the child’s story in court. Volunteers are needed in Cherokee and Clay Counties to assist judges in making decisions regarding the best interests of the child. The Men's Club will be selling tickets this weekend and next for a set of three hand crafted kitchen knives set. Tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10. The drawing will take place on September 17 during the Cajun Fest.
Catholic Charities is pleased to host the Eighth Bishop Begley Conference on Appalachia at the Hayesville First United Methodist Church in Hayesville, NC on Saturday September 23 starting at 9:30AM. The conference will focus on the theme of food insecurity in far western North Carolina. The Evangelization ministry is asking for donations of artificial flowers and fillers to be used to create centerpieces for the upcoming Ladies Tea. Please put your donation in a plastic garbage bag marked “Evangelization” and leave them under the table in the Commons. This will be an ongoing project not only for the Ladies Tea but for Christmas and other events at Church. Thanks for your donations!
