Sisters Terry Martin and Margarita Castaneda, CND will be leaving IHM parish and moving to Connecticut as the end of May. Sister Libby Osgood will also be leaving at this time. Thank you for all your support and prayers during these years of dedicated service. The sisters will keep you all in prayer. The sisters are most grateful to both parish communities and heir staff for their support and prayers through the years.
Join us Saturday, May 18th at 7 PM in the Commons as we venture out to the cuisine of the Middle East for an authentic Lebanese dinner! Tickets for this event are $15 and you may bring your own wine or beer only! Tickets will be available the weekends of April 27, and May 4th and 11th. Our Men's Club will host their Annual Mother's Day Brunch immediately after the 11 AM Mass. .Sunday, May 12th. Please stay after Mass and join us in celebrating that special mother, grandmother, great-grandmother or godmother who has inspired us throughout our lives. A free will offering will be taken.
The Ladies High Tea will be held on Saturday, June 1st, at IHM in the Sr. Terry Martin Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $5.00 plus two donated items of food or paper products which will be given to the Clay and Cherokee County food pantries and the Homeless Shelter. Table decorations and hats will be judged in different categories. Fifty-five churches in the surrounding area have been invited. This is always a fun event, so plan to attend! Little White Books are available on the card table outside the sacristy. The Books are a compliment to the Little Black Books that we use during Lent and these begin on Easter Sunday. Can you spend 6 minutes a day reflecting on the Sunday Gospels of Easter? Be sure to pick up your copy the next time you are at Church.
Practice for Altar Servers is at St. William for both parishes: Holy Thursday—Practice at 10AM, Good Friday—Practice at 9AM, Saturday Easter Vigil-Practice at 10AM
Knights of Columbus will have a fish fry next Friday, April 12th, from 5PM-7PM. Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children. Dinner will include locally grown mountain trout from Andrews, French fries, slaw and brownie. The Knights always put out a great meal at a great price so mark your calendars and join us next Friday.
Liturgical Ministers are needed for the Holy Thursday and Good Friday Services. Please take a moment to pray over where you can best serve Our Lord during the Liturgy. Sign up sheets are on the bulletin board in the Commons.
The IHM Bereavement Support Group continues this Wednesday, April 10th at 10AM in the upstairs kitchen. (please enter through the backdoor of the church) These sessions are meant to be a comfortable, casual and confidential way for all who have lost a loved one to share their experiences and gain some healing. The Bible Study Group at IHM invites parishioners from both Parishes to join them on Friday, April 12th immediately following the 12 Noon Mass as we watch a presentation on The Passion of the Christ. This will bring us closer to the reality and sacrifice of our Savior, and perhaps bring a deeper meaning to Holy Week. Please bring a brown bag lunch, beverages will be provided. Blessings to you all!
